Who I’ve Recently Helped

Form the Future • Cambridge, UK

As business development associate I have been assisting the MD with the development of new relationships and partnerships with businesses across the region. I seek out new companies who may be interested in allowing their early career employees to volunteer their time with schools and colleges, giving students interview practice and sharing their career journeys. I advise on some new growth ideas, suggest new marketing plans and develop new relationships.

Bourn Golf Club • Cambridge, UK

As business development manager my role was to increase awareness and promote new memberships and develop relationships with stakeholders and local businesses. I created links with local magazines and newspapers, wrote press releases, designed new advertisements, built links with the Chamber of Commerce and local charities. I organised networking events, corporate team building and charity events. I attended networking events and nurtured existing and new relationships promoting the club’s facilities and developing new business.

Indie Cambridge • Cambridge, UK

A membership organisation for independent businesses in Cambridge. The team needed someone to develop the business further, drive revenues and increase their exposure. As business development manager I introduced advertisers to the “indie” publication, increased new memberships and helped launch the Indie Academy: skill sharing seminars and networking events for members.

The Rising Network • Cambridge, UK

A membership organisation for women, as business development manager I increased awareness by building relationships with local businesses and generating coverage in the local press and radio. I met with local companies and Corporates, generating sponsorship for the Rising Festival and seeking new memberships and partners. I helped organise venues and sought speakers for seminars and networking events.

The Bradfield Centre • Cambridge, UK

A co-working and serviced office space for tech businesses on the Science park in Cambridge. As business development manager I worked with the MD to develop new commercial revenues and to promote the venue for events. This was achieved by seeking new partnerships, developing existing  relationships and partnering with stakeholders on some new events and initiatives.

Iliffe Media • Cambridge, UK

As business development manager, I was partly responsible for launching Cambridge Independent, the new weekly newspaper in Cambridge in 2016. I helped build relationships with businesses and stakeholders, generated sales revenues through sponsorships and partnerships. Launched the paper’s successful Science & Tech awards and Employee awards. Organised new networking opportunities. Worked with stakeholders on other events and award ceremonies.
